Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance is available for:

  • LOM Annual Conference and LOM LTE (Leadership Training Events)

  • LOM Sponsored Events – Which includes, but is not limited to: LOM –Executive Leadership Event; Specialized educational events which are need based.

  • Compass Points, Interim Directors Training

  • LOM Endorsed Events – Events previously endorsed by the LOM Education Committee

Financial Assistance is available to:

  • A member for one event per year.

  • Each Member may receive the Conference “First-time Attendee” Scholarship only once

  • One member per LOM organization per event. (Cannot request multiple staff to attend the same event)

  • Organizations and individuals who have financial need.

Financial Assistance amounts for need based help:

  • Amounts are not to exceed 50% of the total cost of the original (member) fee of the event or the specific dollar amount attached to that scholarship. (Many events have specific dollar amounts attached to that scholarship) 

  • Transportation costs are not eligible for financial assistance.

  • Financial Assistance for Compass Points courses includes the following:

    • For the registered participant: LOM will pay 50% of tuition for two courses of the eight total courses.

    • Pre-requisite criteria for Compass Points financial assistance: participant must have completed two Concentrations of the Leadership Training Events

Application process

  • All applicants must use submit an application on the LOM website.

  • Applications will be handled in the order in which they were received.

  • Applicant will be notified of the amount of the approved financial assistance within 30 days of written application

  • Please Do Not register for the LOM LTE until after you are granted a Discount CODE by the Events Coordinator.  This CODE will be emailed to you. Once you receive the CODE you may register.  Using the CODE your registration fee will be reduced – extending your financial Scholarship

  • If you are attending any other event which is eligible for Financial Assistance Scholarship funding you will pay the full fee in advance upon registration. After you have attended the event, the LOM Events Coordinator will ask you to complete a form stating for whom the scholarship check is payable.  After your attendance at the event notify the Events Coordinator who can task the LOM Bookkeeper with payment of scholarship funds.
