LOM Camps and Retreat Centers from across the country will be participating in any way they wish. They will be running, jogging, walking, propelling strollers and wheelchairs and roller boards. It’s a great way for all of LOM to come together for celebrating outdoor ministry. Not only that, but it has the potential of raising some much needed funds for all the camps that participate. We of LOM will be demonstrating to the world that we are filled with joy and grace and optimism.
Runners:
- Click here to register. Pay $25 fee to your camp, using the camp donation page. Links for participating camps are below.
- Runners who register by September 30 will have the option to order a Run4Camp t-shirt. Delivery of t-shirt will be by October 24. The $15 fee includes the t-shirt, processing, and delivery. CLICK TO ORDER T-SHIRT
- Runners will be invited to an optional and ZOOM orientation: October 3, 4E, 3C, 2M, 1P; or October 5, 8:30E, 7:30C, 6:30M, 5:30P. All runners are encouraged to attend the orientation. It will include inspiration of why this is an important event, ideas and motivation for finding lots of donors, Q&A on how the whole process works, advocating for runners to send their photos, videos and live-streams for the Run4Camp broadcast on the day of the event.
- Runners find friends and family to sponsor them. Provide sponsors with the link they need to make a donation to the camp they are supporting or they can mail a check to the camp/retreat center.
- Runners invite their sponsors to the live-streamed “finish-line” party on the afternoon of October 24.
- On October 24, runners complete the 5K route they have chosen. This will be accompanied by much hoopla because LOM will have a celebratory, live-streamed virtual “finish line” party taking place 2-5 Eastern, 1-4 Central, 12-3 Mountain, and 11-2 Pacific. Pictures will be sent in from all over the USA (or who knows, perhaps from all over the world) of participants covering their 5K in gratitude for the treasure of outdoor ministry sites, programs, faith formation, and leaders for the world!
Sponsors:
- Make donations directly to the camp/retreat center website donation page listed below.
- Join in the live-streamed “finish-line” party on the afternoon of October 24.

Camps/Retreat Centers:
- Register your camp/retreat center no later than September 20, 2021. Register here, the earlier the better!
- Brainstorm a list of people to invite to participate in Run4Camp.
- Listen to this September 14 Zoom meeting to learn more about Run4Camp. The substantive part of the tape begins at time stamp 5:35.
- After registering your camp/retreat center, LOM will send you a link to give your runners so they can register to run. Runners will be asked to pay a registration fee of $25 to your camp.
- LOM will provide your camp with a link to your list of runners. List is updated in real time.
- You will provide your runners a link to your camp donation page for runners to give their sponsors. Sponsors will be making their donations directly to your camp through your camp donation page.
- You will provide your runners with information to give their sponsors about your camp, how to donate, link to your camp’s donation page, etc.
- Your camp will provide all correspondence with sponsors, including thanks and follow up.
- Invite all runners, sponsors, supporters to the live-streamed “finish-line” party on October 24.
- Send LOM Run4Camp statistics by November 1. LOM will announce the results of our cumulative efforts to be shared at the LOM Annual Conference, November 8-12.
