More information about the new LOM/ACA Agreement –For those going to the conference, please make sure you read this:

As part of our new agreement with ACA, we’ve arranged to save you some time if you are already an accredited camp. This is in addition to the expense you will be saving each year because of your 15% discount on your annual ACA dues.

We’ve arranged for ACA to do an accreditation workshop at each year’s LOM Annual Conference. This is required for camps that are having an accreditation visit during the next summer. But it’s open to anyone and everyone – for whatever reason you may want to get a refresher on the ACA accreditation standards. There might also be representatives from nearby non-LOM camps who participate in the workshop.

This year, the scheduling for the conference had already gone so far down the track by the time we worked out the agreement with ACA that we couldn’t find a good time during the conference to open up a 2.5 hour time block for the accreditation workshop. So we are making it available after the close of the conference but close enough in time for you to access it on the same travel dollar as the conference.

The conference closes with breakfast on Friday morning, November 11. The ACA Accreditation Workshop has been scheduled on that Friday morning, 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. So when you make your airline reservations for the conference, if you want to include the ACA workshop as an add-on, don’t schedule a flight out of OMA with a departure time prior to 1:30 p.m.

Questions about this or any other aspect of the agreement with ACA of, for that matter, anything to do with LOM, contact Don Johnson  603-848-9904.

Late Fee:  A $100 late fee will be added to all event registrations made after 12:00 noon (EDT) on October 15, 2016.

Cancellation Policy:  Prior to October 15 all but $100.00 will be refunded to you. After October 15 the entire registration fee is non-refundable.  If you need to cancel your registration for the LOM Conference, please contact Jon Skogen immediately at

To Our Guests With Special Dietary Needs:

The Food Services staff at Carol Joy Holling Center aims to provide creative and delicious dining experiences for all of our guests. And, we want to be supportive of our guests who are unable to enjoy some of our offerings due to certain food intolerances or allergies. In those cases, we ask our guests to be sure to use discretion in deciding what food choices to make at each meal. Even though we cannot guarantee that specific ingredients or allergens are not present (we do not have separate kitchens to prepare allergen-free items), we want to do our best to accommodate your needs. So, at your request, we are happy to always have the following replacement items available for you:

  • Plain Grilled Chicken Breast
  • Gluten Free Roll
  • Vegetarian Burger on a Bun
  • Soy Milk

Many times guests with specific allergies or dietary needs choose to bring their own special food items to supplement what we serve. Of course, we support those decisions and are happy to provide refrigerated space to store those items for you.  Typically, our menus are planned one week ahead and our team will gladly make them available for you to help you make your food decisions. Please contact me if I can help you better prepare for your time with us.
