Executive Directors function as the chief executive officer for the organization with responsibility for overall leadership in the organization. Responsibilities typically include leadership in the areas of administration, program, financial development and planning. Executive directors report directly to the board of directors.
Directors usually work under the supervision of an executive director. Site directors, associate and operations directors have direct responsibility for the daily operations of a particular outdoor ministry site providing leadership in the areas of administration.They often have responsibilities for supervising other full time staff and also have responsibility for direct program leadership as well.
Program Leadership staff usually work under the supervision of a Director or the Executive to provide program development and leadership. Program Directors, Environmental Education staff, Ropes Course managers, and other Program Leaders typically plan programs, hire and schedule seasonal staff, and provide direct program leadership.
Other Year Round Staff provide vital support for the ongoing ministries of organizations. There are a variety of these positions available in areas such as Development, Facilities, Marketing, Food Service, Information Technology.
Seasonal Staff usually work under the supervision of Program Leadership or a Director and are typically responsible program implementation, and hosting groups. Some may be part of internship programs with intentional study and training for working in outdoor ministry as a career.
